| Welcome to the new ArtXcapes website by Connecticut Artists James C. Bigelow & William Ball. We are saddened to announce the closing of our retail store. Regretfully, the economy plays a big part in our decision. The high cost of fuel, electric and natural gas have increased drastically over several years. Our wholesalers are also feeling the pinch in turn they have to increase their prices to us and we will not endure the high prices that we would have to pass on to our customers. The premise of our gallery was to sell affordable handmade local items. We know that most businesses are feeling this economy. At some point in the future ArtXcapes may exist as another retail outlet but not until the economy stabilizes. Thanks to all our customers, artists and wholesalers over the years who have worked with us. We will keep our website as our personal website. Target date for closing will be middle of June.
