| Art has been a substantial part of my life as long as I can remember. Born and raised in Springfield, MA. I have vivid memories of always being fascinated with creating art. From having that first paint by number to excelling at Art through out my childhood and finally attending college. I am a graduate of Westfield State College in Westfield, MA. I have a B. A. in Art & Concentration in graphic design. Over the years I had numerous works on display and in shows: Northampton Fair in MA, Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA, Mercy Hospital in Springfield, as well as, various commission works. Some of my crafts are sold at The Connecticut Creative Store in Hartford, CT. In September of 2007 I started to sell my photo cards at the Carousal Museum in Bristol. The Museum staff graciously allowed me to photograph their carousal horses. I also have a few of my beach series greeting cards for sale at Harkness Memorial State Park Gift Store in Waterford, CT. During the summer you can also see us at a few arts & craft shows. Check our event page. A painter & drawer by nature, I also create other art forms ranging from stained glass works, garden ornaments, to other various mixed media's. Photography is another passion. I do believe that one can capture a moment in time that creates a beautiful image. I do not label my art work as being created with a meaning. Sometimes I just like to create a pretty picture. Other times I just like the way colors meld and form the picture. My paintings have transformed from realistic, in the early days, to a more abstract free form. Most people think that abstract is not art. One has to love color and form to appreciate abstract art. I believe with the invention of the camera that realistic art has taken the back seat. No doubt that the Great realistic painters of the Renaissance Period were masters of their trade. Abstract frees the artist from the true view and experimentation takes place. The human experience is always to create. Art will always be ever changing. In the modern world that we live in, who knows, maybe there will be a back to realism movement. |
